With the movie technique, I use a real movie or video.  I show just one small part of the video. 

Then, I pause after every 1-3 sentences and explain the talking using simpler, slower, more easy English.

It's quite cool actually!

In fact, when I taught at a school (many years ago..) this was my student's favorite kind of lesson.  

They used to beg me every day, "A.J., please do another movie lesson".   If they were good and brought me chocolate, I did it. 

If they were bad, I opened the grammar book....  (just kidding).
