Perhaps there is only one novel in the world which has predicted the downfall of the Berlin wall. That is INRI. Dr Abraham Karickam publishd the first edition of the novel in 1987 and two years later the Berlin wall was cracked down by the younger generation of Europe.

                This is an apocalyptic novel which can be classed among the Utopian creations. The author visualizes a brave new world that foretells the beginning of a metamorphosis.

                INRI is a revolutionary group that works for the wiping out of all forces of evil. Not even the superpowers can withstand the on slot of INRI. The citadels fall one by one. A scintillating story unfolds itself through the pages of this novel and the suspense is quite thrilling.

RAPTURE NEW

All the birds of all the world
Sing in voice one to Thee;
All the nations around the globe
Sing Hallluiah to Thee.
All my cells of corporeal frame
Open up in rapture new,
As a mountain stream atlast
Breaks the ways through hills and dales,
Making all the ones to dance
Whoever come to fill the cup
And heads toward the ocean far
Like a child in fear for mother's care.

Spiritual Story

A Hindu saint who was visiting river Ganges to take bath found a group of family members on the banks, shouting in anger at each other. He turned to his disciples smiled and asked.

'Why do people shout in anger shout at each other?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout.'

'But, why should you shout when the other person is just next to you? You can as well tell him what you have to say in a soft manner.' asked the saint

Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the other disciples.
Finally the saint explained, .

'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other to cover that great distance.

What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is either nonexistent or very small...'

The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

He looked at his disciples and said.

'So when you argue do not let your hearts get distant, Do not say words that distance each other more, Or else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return.

Dr. Abraham Karickam went on an extensive expedition to Europe and America during 1980. He spent 3 months in Taize community France before heading to the United States of America. He could visit more than half of the American soil during this visit. The most important part of the American visit was a study tour to Pentagon in addition to visiting several American Universities. A number of important meetings were organised by Taize community in different parts of America and Canada especially for the student community.

This trip spanning over more than 6 months was an excellent opportunity for understanding the youth of the Western Hemisphere. From this book we come to understand the philosophy of the younger generation of of the Western world especially Europeans and Americans. The secrets of Pentagon, the wonderment of NASA, the magicalism of the Disney world and the natural beauty of Florida are unraveled before us and it provides a fantastic reading experience. This book was published in 1990 by M. Y Publishers, Karickam and it is dedicated to Sri. K. C Mathew and Taize community.
