END CANNOT COME

The sky vomited thunder fits

Horizons darkened, earth trembled;

Apparitions appeared from all corners

Showing shuddering signs of fear

            Emperors roared and missiles throbbed,

             People bemoaned the imminent end;

            Prophets predicted ominous occurrence

            Signalling collapse of cosmic course.

But mountainous peace ruled my heart

That ages of penance brought atlast;

End cannot come, sure I know

Before we both could become one.

കത്തികൾ വെള്ളിടി വെട്ടും നാദം
ചില്ലുകളുടഞ്ഞു ചിതറും നാദം
പന്നിവെടിപുക പൊന്തും തെരുവിൽ
പാതിക്കാൽ വിറകൊൾവതു കാണാം
ഒഴിഞ്ഞ കൂരയിൽ ഒളിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും
കുരുന്നുഭീതി ക്കണ്ണുകൾ കാണാം

മങ്ങിയ കാഴ്ച്ചകൾ കണ്ടു മടുത്തു
കണ്ണടകൾ വേണം കണ്ണടകൾ വേണം

സ്മരണകുടീരങ്ങൾ പെരുകുംബോൾ
പുത്രൻ ബലിവഴിയെ പോകുംബോൾ
മാത്രുവിലാപത്താരാട്ടിൻ
മിഴി പൂട്ടിമയങ്ങും ബാല്യം
കണ്ണിൽ പെരുമഴയായ്‌ പെയ്തൊഴിവതു കാണാം

പിഞ്ചു മടികുത്തൻപതുപേർ ചെർന്നിരുപതുവെള്ളി

തെരുവിൽ സ്വപ്നം കരിഞ്ഞ മുഘവും
നീട്ടിയ പിഞ്ചു കരങ്ങൾ കാണാം

അരികിൽ ശീമ കാറിന്നുള്ളിൽ
സുകശീതള മൃതു മാറിൻ ചൂരിൽ
ഒരുശ്വാനൻ പാൽ നുണവതു കാണാം

This is a fascinating novel which is written in the background of a village named Ugrankunnu. The feud between Scaria Thomas (Kariachen) and George Abraham (Pongan Avaran) develops into a great battle which has its repercussions in the whole village. The scene slowly shifts into the Arabian Gulf and a lion's share of the incidents occur there. 
 Kariachen becomes the king of business magnets and his revenge leads to numerous dimensions. The history of Kerala life for about half a century is again told in an exceptional manner. Twenty eight chapters give descriptions of innumerable conflicts that shake the very fabric of a usually peaceful society. 
The whole book provides an exceptrional reading experience. The style is poetic. This novel was published by Janapriya wing of Current Books, Kottayam in the year 1987. It was released at a special function in Marthoma College,Thiruvalla. Dr. K Ayyappapanicker released the book by presenting the first copy to Dr. Alexander Marthoma Metropolitian.

MY SOUL BURNS

My soul burns

For the feel of your feathery fingers,

For the kiss of your ruby lips,

For the warmth of your throbbing heart,

For the heat of your heaving bosom,

For the odour of your curly hair,

For a glance of that wild lensed eyes.

A fool to traverse the planet like

A cuckoo for a crow’s nest,

Despising nature’s gift in you

I wandered hitherto unaware.

Like a joey in it’s parent pouch

I crave for refuge in your lap

And leave sullen time’s tides behind

To rest in peace for ever more.
