Love Poems of Dr. Karickam No. 4: Wanton Kite

Wanton Kite

I fly far out above the skies
A wanton kite with loosened strings;
Against the winds I make advance
The next moment to fall head down.

Again I find my place in air
Dancing under heavens above;
With full of pride I hope to sing
My success story to the stars.

Then I feel the pull behind
And skip and hoop to gain control;
At the end of a furious fight
At last give up the vain attempt.

It took long to realize
There was ONE behind all the tricks;
Strings and pulls are part of it,
My flights futile without that Force.

(Abraham Karickam)
