CAN'T YOU STAY?
Suddenly I woke up at midnight
And felt for him half-conscious.
Shocked....I sprang up to feet,
He was no where to be found.
Wriggling like a worm in bed
I flooded myself with hot tears;
Tormenting this loneliness,
Unbearable my wretched state.
Then I hear the west wind approach
Muttering soothening words to me-
"I'll only be a winter away".
Still I wept, even that, too much.
I hate to be left forlorn
Like a baby bird in winter nest;
Can't you stay ever with me
Till it is the end of times?
