Love Poems No. 29 : FOR THE LAST EMBRACE

FOR THE LAST EMBRACE

As Saturn in the Zodiac, eclipsing my prospects
Befooled by tinsels, I loitered in the woods;
Hiding in remote caves and afraid of hungry wolves,
Cursing my sporting stars, I resigned to solitude.

Pardon me my sweet heart, breath of my being,
Churning Thy mantras, I took after vile alleys;
Rivulets murmured sweet and promised hidden depths,
Voluptuous I scrumbled, forgetting Thee a while.

It dawned only late that woods can carry me
To deceiving deeps beneath, elephants might fall anon;
Divorced through from me, and cruelly left forlorn,
Spread Thy eagle wings, at least for a last embrace.
