Kalisandaranopanishad
At the end
of the Dwapara Era (Treta Yugam, Dwapara Yugam, Kratha Yugam and Kaliyugam are
the four eras), one day Sage Narada approached Brahmah with the following
question: “Lord, how can I escape from the evils of Kali Yuga when I travel
upon the earth.”
Brahma was so pleased
and said thus:
“My son what you have asked is the question I love most. I shall reveal to you the mystery behind all the Vedic lore. The only way to be free from the evils of Kaliyuga is to recite the Holy name of Aadinarayana”. Narada asked for that name and Brahma replied as follows:

“Hare Rama
Hare Rama
Rama Rama
Hare Hare
Hare Krishna
Hare Krishna
Krishna
Krishna Hare Hare”.
“Ithishooda sakam
naamnaam kalikalmashanaasanam. Naata:
Paratharopaaya:
sarvavedeshu drisyathe”.
[All these
sixteen names destroy the evils of Kaliyuga. There is no better means
prescribed even in the Vedic Sciences.]
He continues with the same idea in
the following stanza also:
“With the recital of this name (Aadinarayana) the veil of life is broken. Just as the Sun cleared out of the cloud, shines gloriously the real image of Parabrahma exhibits its halo. Naradan then asks for the specific method of recitation of the name and Brahma makes it clear that there is no specific design. The name can be recited in any condition, holy or unholy. Through the chanting of these mantras one can attain all the four stages of Mukthi or Salvation, viz. Salokyamukthi, Sameepyamukthi, Saroopyamukthi and Sayujyamukthi. In the first stage a soul reaches the eternal world. In the second condition one is able to sit near God. In the third phase one attains the image of God and in the fourth state the soul becomes one with God just as water drops immerge in the sea.

If one recites this name 35 million (3.5
crore) times he frees himself from all sins related to evils done to God and man. He attains Moksha
at once.
