KRISHNOPANISHAD
This
tells the story of various incarnations of Gods in different ages. It is in the
form of a story. Many of the Devas were enchanted by the Charisma of Sri Rama
Chandra and approached him with a request. They said they were ready to be born
up on the earth if they were granted the life of cowherd men and women where they
wanted his bodily presence and the fortune to feel his immediate contact.
He was so pleased with them and said
their request will be granted so that they can feel his presence in the given
life of men.
All the Devas were immensely pleased
with the promise of Sri Ramachandra and they all accepted various forms of
incarnations upon the earth. We get a detailed description of a series of
births upon the earth. There is a hint as to the 16008 wives of Sri Krishna and
their real nature. It is made clear that they are none other than the Vedas and
the Upanishads. Bhagavan Sri Krishna has taken his birth in this world with the
intension of protecting all the righteous people and eliminating the whole race
of all the evil ones. One who realizes the real nature of Krishna derives the
benefits of taking bath in all the Holy Rivers and he becomes free from bodily
bondages in this world.
